Clearly you wanted the SR role since you interviewed for it. So why did you accept their offer if it wasn't what you wanted? If they weren't entirely upfront with you about the Sr. role, this could be indicative of how they operate.
If titles didn't mean much, they would have given you a senior title.
@AMD1 yes I see that now. When I had asked them about it before accepting the offer, they told me that the hierarchy is generally flat and "titles don't really mean much" there. Load of bs as there's a bunch of hierarchy there.
I once interviewed for a Senior role and the agency then offered me a mid-level role, so I would have had to take a title demotion just to say I worked at Code & Theory. I declined the offer. I'm sorry they did that to you - sometimes I really hate the egos some agencies have about the job titles they give out. Just try to look at the positives and what you want to learn while you are there and perhaps this Senior can help you with those goals.
I joined two weeks later and was told that the new Sr UX role was just filled and my new coworker would be joining soon. Ummmm?? Wtf
