Not sure about recruiting in India, but in US, a prospective employer asking for current/former paystubs is a red flag. They're trying to scope out how much you make, so they can prep for how much you might ask for and how far they're willing to go.
The salary should only depend on the prospective job and the location and maybe a few other criteria, NONE of which have anything to do with your current or former jobs or salaries
I’m sure about recruiting in India and have offers from the biggest tech and consulting companies (we’re talking #1 companies in the world in respective domains) and they all ask for last 3 month payslips but it becomes irrelevant when negotiating across offers
Dont worry, either they will ask or they will offer you good salary. Else just politely deny and they will revise CTC.
In India this is norm, HR asks current salary to lowball you.
I'm so out of the loop, guess I have some R&D to do in case the coin flip on stay vs. return coin flips the "return" option.
Generally in India, most of the companies give hikes based on your current salary and hence they're asking for your payslips.
PS - ZS also asked for payslips from me before sending the offered salary.
That's weird AF! makes no sense whatsoever, the only plausible scenario in which that info is relevant is if the future role is significantly similar to the current role.
For which tech stack and yoe.?
And yes this means you'll get an offer, for me HR contacted me for salary discussion before asking for documents.
Not sure for BA profile, but maybe around 11-14lpa
This is very common on India. Next they will call you for negotiations.
That means you have gone through the interviews. They are now going to prepare an interim Offer Letter based on your salary slips, and call you for salary negotiation.
I'm in the same position as you. please check your DM
