While I always appreciate a good snarky comment, I'd say if your plan is to be taking screenshots and drawing lines for the rest of your career, that's the attitude you should keep about that question. My take is, that's a fair question. To be able to have upward potential, they need to see problem solving skills.
So, you have a year of experience, but let me ask a question that is based upon significant experience where you are a decision maker who bears responsibility for the outcome.
Yes, there are challenges, problem solving at a junior level should be: I researched it, worked out some options and went to my supervisor for guidance and to present my findings/suggested ways forward.
We put numbers on paper.
Plenty of difficult client experiences to answer that question, but I agree that there's very little need for those kinds of questions for an entry-level SOX role. The interview should all be about personality fit.
