Game time! Game face! Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!
Put on your hoodie, draw the hood over your eyes. Focus.
Look, if you had one shot, one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted, one moment, would you capture it or just let it slip?
Yo, his palms are sweaty, knees week, arms are heavy, there's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti, he's nervous but looks calm on the surface...
Also anxiety meds might be a good idea. Breathing, yoga, believe in yo self and take the meds if they help.
Just be prepared and relax. I just imagine I’m talking to a group of friends.
Several professionals on here said anxiety meds might be part of the solution -- don't stigmatize it EY4. Some of us are benefitting from it and we want to share our experience here without being judged. Thanks.

Anxiety medication.
Ask the Lord for courage.

Practice questions you would ask or conversations you might have prior. The night before, out loud
Just think of it this way... if u r hardworking and smart, you will get through life.... think of it this way, everybody makes mistakes in life, hence we are called humans and not God... the worst that can ever happen is people not keeping you in these kinds of situations, but you will make few mistakes and eventually learn and grow out of it... another good suggestion is to think of other people in the meeting room as just as human as you are... we are all in this together and will get thru at the end of the day... nothing is bigger than a good health and family and friends that care for you at the end of the day.... think of work as just work and not your life.... I think here in the US we see it as the end of the world if we make mistakes... worst case scenario even if u were to get fired for not having a great meeting, there will still be many other doors open for you in life.... no need for any stupid medications or any dumb advice here... believe in yourself at the end of the day and think of everybody as a human too and an equal just like u r... I was very similar ( not as extreme) as you, but my commitment to all the things I have said above have helped me turn my life completely around.....
EY4 that’s pretty dismissive of medication. Just because you don’t take it doesn’t make it stupid.
Are you drinking from the toilet bowl?
Thank you!
Go to more meetings. It all comes with practice.
Get a 10 mg Inderal prescription. It’s not a tranquilizer. It’s typically used for heart conditions but works miraculously with stage fright/anxiety. Half of the actors on Broadway use it.
Liquid courage of course!
Know others are as or more miserable than you. Helps me walk in there confidently and own the room!
The best strategy is to just know what you're talking about.
If you are giving a presentation, practice saying it out loud before the meeting. Run through it out loud ten to twenty times. You should know your talking points on each slide without looking at the slide. Rehearsal will help you stay focused and make you feel prepared and thus less anxious. If it’s a general meeting, be clear about agenda points, learn what you can before the meeting (review materials, etc) and think of your key questions. Researching topics before hand can be helpful too. Just remember that for senior people, they are doing meetings back to back and they appreciate a straight forward approach. You don’t have to make everything sound perfect- talk about the real issues, while still having ideas to solve current problems. Good luck!
Read “The Pin Drop Principal”. I listened to a guest speaker who co wrote this book which deals with all the issues related to public speaking. Some basic changes of habit work really well. I went from being a nervous wreck talking in front of large audiences to a measured speaker. Meds are not the answer, it’s all about planning, knowing your subject, understand your audience and valuing yourself. Good luck!
