You can just say McK, no other MBB firms have the BA title
Comes with a stigma nowadays
I'd still polish up on cases. My cousin who conducts interviews at a FAANG has commented that he's seen some younger MBB folks come completely unprepared and end up bombing the cases. His guess was that they have a similar attitude to yours, where they think "oh I'm in mbb I'm good on cases" but they're really not.
Thank you, very helpful
Know the company and brush up on your casing. I’ve failed tons and tons of MBB consultants because the last time they did a case was 4 years ago in school. Also Tech Cases are not entirely like MBB cases, they assume prior knowledge of the company.
E.g. If you applied to LinkedIn, you should know how we make money, what an InMail is and how our ecosystem works at a high level.
There’s not a repository, MBB cases generally work, but assume prior knowledge.
Also focus on second order impact - e.g. in a Deloitte practice case (automotive), it was about profitability and the conclusion was that it was profitable to shut down the factory -> second order impact would be well does that impact relationship and costs on rest of the factory due to union bargaining / demands (there was nothing in the case about that).
Example of this would be: let’s raise prices on job postings at LinkedIn - does that impact job seekers and how many people will continue to use LinkedIn if there’s less liquidity?
Do you know the TC?
Why is it a silly question?
