70k.

More layoffs in the O&G industry are likely, keep your resume up to date. Oilfield services is even worse.

Thanks for the heads up

Try to aim for 75k ish. If you have a CPA that should give you a bit more influence to bump it up from whatever they're offering.

like

For reference I currently make 57k, no pay bump this year due to COVID

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. Thus far, he’s landed interviews with (all in Houston): Baker Botts, Sidley Austin, Kirkland, Winston Strawn, Reed Smith, Norton Rose, and Locke Lord. Also Perkins Coie in Dallas. He’s leaning transactional, but also open to litigation. Any insights/advice on these firms in the TX market? Any to avoid?

Duties would have me responsible for a small team of research nurses as well as other managerial duties for the department. I have been a research nurse for 3 years now, but I have no experience applying for a salaried position or a role in leadership. What sort of salary would be appropriate to ask for? I know that I should aim high and let them counter, but how high exactly? Thanks I’m advance

Hi Fishes,

I was offered RSUs for the first time as part of my compensation. I think I understand the concept as such but there are a few intricacies I was looking to clarify. Could anyone let me know if my grant date is 9th nov, 2022 and vesting period is 1 year, will I get RSUs allotted at the price of stock on grant date or vest date (in this case 9th nov, 2023)? Happy to connect in DMs as well

Thank you for your time!

Serious billing question - if during the course of the day, you first receive an email from Client A at say 11:10am and you read it, you then respond to it at 12:20pm. You get another email at 2pm from Client A and respond immediately. The next email comes in at 4pm, you read it and respond only at 4:30pm. None of the email responses take more than 3-5mins. You are working on matters for other clients at all other times during the day. How much are you billing for Client A?

Say I had a “friend” who gained 15 Covid lbs but is still on dating apps with old pics. Is that considered catfishing? She’s not overweight, but not fit anymore. Still good looking...she suspects. Is it best to update the pics? Or get on a BBW dating app? Definite fear of rejection at meeting. Thank God I’m asking for a friend because this shits embarrassing to type.
