Personally I’m keeping my CSR and would use it for that over the AX Plat, if only because of the 50% bonus in points value when booking through the UR portal (and also on Pay Yourself Back redemptions). Chase’s points just seem much more flexible to me than AX/CapOne/Citi.
I have considered getting the AX Plat just for the benefits though, eg Walmart+.

It’s not a sock drawer card for me because my primary reason in getting it was for the Centurion lounge access, so I have to keep it on me. I find myself using my CSR or Gold card far more often.
Thank you Pwc1, I didn’t read carefully
I find the platinum benefits are worth keeping it (plus I got a decent retention offer after a year), but I do basically all my spending on my Citi stack and Venture X
Ended up calculating in my head. Will get my analyst to make a flowchart 😆. Here’s the earning/redemption final setup
Earning:
1. Amex Gold: 4x Dining/grocery
2. CSR: 3x on flights/hotel/rental/other travel categories, 5x flights & 10x hotel/rental car via portal
3. Amex Blue Biz Plus: 2x on all
4. Chase Freedom Flex: 5x on rotating categories for flexible point earnings
5. Amazon Prime Rewards: 5-10% on amazon purchases when it is higher than card 3/4
Redemption: Pool in to travel airline partner & redeem at 2cent/point+

I only use Plat to book flights and use the benefits. I bring it with me just to add weight to my wallet 😂
Dining and groceries go on Gold, car rental on CSP, everything else on a random card

I used to have Green but upgraded to Gold cuz it's hard to justify the fee. I put it on CSP just to get the primary car insurance
I also have hilton, everyday, BBP, and a few other amex cards haha but I'm usually doing sign up bonus challenge so rarely use BBP
I cancelled my platinum because it wasn't making sense for me. Since I'm back down under 5/24, I'm cycling through Chase again.
About to dump my multi decade platinum for CSR
Relatively worthless points system is one but really just value for the annual fee. I don’t use the $200 usually as it is not common for me to have to pay those fees. Almost never seem to be able to use the clubs, and concierge service has substantially declined. Current rotation of benefits not great although did use $200 travel credit
amex plat also has great shopping offers
Plat has priority pass access
Flights directly with airline at 5x is nice, not that you need it in your wallet for that. Also, some of their insurance benefits are better and people report drastically easier interactions/resolutions with Amex vs Chase there
I use mine but I just got it last year. It’s a good card if you travel, like you suggest. Venture X is better for sure. I really like the airport lounges tho—-I travel every week or 2.
You don’t get an Amex if you only use it 2-4 a yewr
