Is anyone else in medicine tired of the BS rhetoric of "networking" as an absolute requirement to get a decent job? especially if you are transitioning to non clinical careers like pharma or consulting? Believe it or not there are very capable, superbly trained physicians out there who are not extroverted charismatic clowns who like to kiss up. I refuse to believe that MD's who couldn't even match to a residency end up with better positions in these industries just because of this

I failed my first exam and now I am having a difficult time gaining the focus and drive I once hard to study and seat for another… did anyone went through that same thing or similar how did you over come that? I tend to set high expectations for myself and get overwhelm when those expectations are not met… but I’m working on that.

Deciding on a career path

I feel like my brain works like a consultant, and I would enjoy consulting, but I also looove all things finance & investing. While I don’t necessarily have extensive experience in the field (most of what I know is self taught, my major is accounting), I want to get involved in it somehow and learn more.

I currently work in audit, I’m not sure what exit opportunities are an option for me for the investing/finance industry. Feel like chances are are slim. Any advice?

Anyone switched from Becker to Wiley and regretted it? I did and though I appreciate the bite-sized lectures, I don't enjoy it as much as Becker.
