Nothing has been addressed at my company. I am not sure they know exactly how to address this topic so they are kind of keeping in the background. It would be nice to have the company give a response as some of the staff really seem to be struggling with the events and the downfall.
Officially the only thing we've had is an email and it's not enough. They did mention that our teams there are safe and we're taking care of them (doing the same in Ukraine)
Unofficially a few people took it on themselves to set up team chats for anyone to talk if they need.
For me, I've encouraged my team that it's ok to step back if they want, that to let me know and we'll cover a y work while they focus on what's important to them. It's still not enough but I really don't know what to do
It’s very sad to do much about. The conflict is not about who’s right or wrong but on innocent lives taken. In a DEI perspective, it’s not happening in the workplace, it is outside the scope. Fear of saying the wrong thing will cause harm and silence is the best answer. But at the same time, silence is tolerance. Ultimately companies will need to look at its core values and evaluate it with their employees to come up with a solution together.
