On a positive stereotype - I explained to my Gen Z daughter what I do and she said " so your job is basically just telling people to be nice to one another" 😅

My conservative uncle is positive that my job is to find all the flaws of the white people who work at the company I work for, and replace them with minorities and women. I don't know how to explain to him that that isn't my job in a way he'll listen to.

Hello! Does anyone know of any openings for diversity and inclusion drivers/promoters in India? I joined as an HR analyst at Accenture as a fresh graduate 3 months ago but this is not really the role I was looking for. I have quite a lot of experience in diversity and inclusion related themes. Unpopular opinion: 2,000 hours is way too high of a benchmark to be eligible for a bonus. Unless like 300+ non-billable hours count towards it (maybe half of that be pro bono hours and the other half be diversity, recruiting, etc), 2000 is way too much.

Really looking for a way to turn around a toxic building culture with staff to staff bullying, cliques/social isolation, hard feelings on big topics (racism, non acceptance of gender identity). Last year the staff polarized with the lead bully whom I helped leave. And the lead gossip (who was my secretary) that gained their sympathy and turned them against me. She also left. Now I need to regain trust and eliminate unacceptable teacher behaviors. Open to any and all advice.

I love my job and the people I work with, but there’s one thing that really bothers me: the lack of diversity. Sometimes when I walk into the office and see everyone else around me as the only POC, it feels kind of weird. I don’t think anyone here has ever said anything racist or sexist to me personally, but I don’t feel comfortable talking about these issues with anyone because they might take it personally and then things could get awkward between us.

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! I'm in desperate need of tips to get genuine buy in from our predominantly white, male senior leadership to create a more inclusive environment. As is often the case, middle management and below is very diverse and then at Director+ it gets much more homogeneous. So far any real initiatives get shot down in favor of performative actions to post on SM. Is this just how it is, or can we try something different?
