After submitting my resume for the Global Finance and Business Management full time position at JP Morgan (my dream job!), I got a HireVue invite the next day! However, I completed it 9 days ago and still have no response....
When do we get a response in average, and after how much time does it mean I probably am not getting an offer to continue?
Thanks!

Accenture Hello, this past December I applied to a Devops role at Accenture. I didn’t get the position but I looked on their website and noticed they have an software engineer apprenticeship. I emailed the recruiter about the apprenticeship but she didn’t get back to be. But after telling me I didn’t get the position she did say to wait six months to apply for another position. I really think I would be a good fit for the apprenticeship. What can anyone recommend? Can I possibly get a referral.

What type of projects are you working on now? CDD is becoming more and more commoditized.
Not my own core speciality
I’m in PwC’s Deals Strategy team and I’m happy to chat 1-1 if you like. The 60-80 hours for associate/senior associate/ manager is right.
What are the comps look like for associate/senior
I would think in term of what kind of experience you’re looking to build, instead of pay and hours. That said, not everyone is cut out for the lifestyle, and if you’re going to be miserable, that’s a real consideration.
I did 4 years in CDD land and it was amazing experience. I exited to an M&A role and am in the top 10% of my peer group for post-MBA comp at this point. If you gain experience in things you love to do the hours aren’t that important, in my opinion.
Until you have kids :)
Comp?
I wouldn’t take it
WLB and stress. You’ll be grinding
It’s a grind. If you usually have plans on weekdays, don’t expect to continue doing so. A typical week will be 55-65 hours, sometimes 70+ depending on the shop; you should only do it if you want to go into an investing role after
Play the long game - what is you exit plan (if any)?
- stay in consulting? CDD shop means your clients will be majority of PE funds and a bit of M&A teams if you’re lucky
- exit to industry? CDD teaches you fast paced engagements focusing on strategy topics so it’s a nice skill set but actually quite narrow and not that easily transferable contrary to popular belief. Go to market, RGM, ops etc are more « real » skills that will help you exit
Don’t take it. You’ll just be pushed further into CDD which doesn’t cap out with a ton of money. Go see if you can get staffed on a commercial strategy or customer acquisition project. You’ll be better off in the long run unless you’re planing to go investment team next.
