Not common
A1 is right. In answer to your quandary, the answer is, it depends. Both on type of assessment and on the engagement. Could be you're just that good, or the client is not paying enough, or they just need someone listed on paper as leading it and they really just need you to do the grunt work as they direct you... Also could be that they already have what they need to complete the assignment based on a different engagement, but want to be paid for it. In which case, you just need to review for grammar, update, and send.
Hey, I am leading an assessment too, nice job on proving your worth. If you ever have doubts talk to manager or senior manager, and they'll set you straight. Mine did when I started asking how the hell I got these responsibilities.
Setting you up for the fall IMO.
I kid I kid, maybe
In that case it sounds like you've proven yourself and you have been given more responsibility as a result. Sounds like a great growth opportunity! I'd stay the 2 months to have the experience, then try to make a move.
Have you done something exceptional to show these leaders you're capable of filling that role?
Not common but happen. Were you asked to lead the workstream before you join the team or were you there for a while before you were given the role?
I had several associates who are just good, and with time, we give them the role to lead once they gain the client trust
@C1/D1, I’ve been working at this client 14 months and have performed well; the implementation/stabilization ended and now they’re trying to extend me with this - I’m just not sure if its smarter (career-wise) to stay at this client or look for one where there’s actual sold work rather than assessments/BD
