Is it common to take a pay cut to transition to fp&a role in industry? Currently an audit staff 2 and all 3 financial analyst offers I’ve received are below my current compensation.

I’ve been noticing the same thing. 2 or 3 years ago it was extremely easy to get a 20% + bump in pay from leaving audit to an industry role after a couple of years. Now that the B4 have upped their salaries drastically, it seems like most industry exit ops are the same pay or slightly less than B4.

like

That is not common. Unless you’re looking at entry level positions.

Agreed with the above, plus it is VERY late in the game to consider leaving before busy season. If you left now you would risk burning a lot of bridges and giving yourself a bad reputation. I’d wait it out.

What’s your salary now and what are their offers? Currently in the same situation.

Hi Sharks,

I have got an offer with Capgemini.

They are postponing my joining stating a strange BGV pending issue.

I have lost a months salary already. Still there is no confirmation on joining date

Can I put my papers within a month of joining Capgemini? Will there be any problem if I do so? And how many months of notice will be applicable if I put my papers within a month of joining Capgemini?

Hi everyone,

Is £48k a decent salary in London? That's roughly 3k net/month.
I'm a 27M, single.
I'm thinking of renting a room for 750/800 a month, that leaves me with ~£2100, if I get the Oyster card that's another 150, and for groceries/going out I guess I won't need more than 600/month.
That allows me to save ~£1400/month.
Am I being too optimistic/unrealistic?

Thanks!

RBC vs Neo financial ? For a data engineering position which company is better in terms of work- life balance and career growth .
I know benefits wise RBC is much better but can any one on the technology side tell me if RBC is on par with the industry standards in the data field and it’s not like old technology . During the interview process I got to know they use python 2 which was so surprising.

RBC - 100k with 10,500 bonus ( comes with lots of benefits like employee mortgage rates and no pro

Hello fishes,
I am having 6 and half YOE. Techstack is front end development mostly on Angular. Currently working at a product based organization. I joined this org 8 months ago. This job has really stressed me out and I am on the verge of a burn out. I am considering quitting and taking a break for two months. Is it a bad idea to quit without having another job, especially given the market conditions now ? I really want to a month or two to take some time off and refresh. Pl advise.

In some situations I think I’m pretty socially awkward, particularly I never know what to say when someone mentions a family member passing. I was on a video call with 2 project team members and at the end one mentioned she’s attending a funeral for a family member passing. I’ve been with this project team for about 9 months now. The other guy said a few things and expressed his condolences. I just froze even though I knew I should say something but said nothing, and she wrapped the call..

Hi guys!

I'm currently working in a long standing tight knit team for around a year. I'm really keen to start interviewing for other organisations for more progression. The only issue is references, I know if I ask any of my small team to be my reference it'll spread and I'm not sure how they will respond.

Is it ok to use references from my previous job (professional services)? Have others encountered this? And if so how did you approach this situation.

The most frustrating thing about getting rejected for a job is the excuse they use which gives zero insight into what it really was.

During my interview for a Senior role they asked what I felt was important in my role as an assurance senior. One of the things I said is I felt coaching was an important part of my role and gave my reasons. Their excuse for not giving me the role was because the company wasn't big enough and they didn't have anyone for me to coach.
