That's what you get when the market is dominated by fake UX Practitioners and businesses that don't know UX from UI.
Companies that value UX are still paying top rates, while folks grabbing those newly graduated from bootcamp graphic designers are paying what they think is the cost of making stuff look pretty.
I think the industry is operationalizing, execs and product owners are used to UX/UI and treating it as a line item. Plus as mentioned there is a flood of entry level practitioners coming from boot camps. You have to differentiate yourself with education (academic degrees or specialized training like NNg) and ideally pick an industry to learn really well. I am almost $200k but I've been in this role for close to 20 years.
Yes this is something I have been noticing as well. Salaries down; prices up. This is fine.
