Is it normal for a firm to put associates on PIPs for anything less than 1850 hours? I ask because I read a report showing that big law firms are averaging less than this across the board.

Yeah it’s usually a push out strategy. You’re often set up to fail and firms can use it as pretext to cut you once the PIP period ends.

No. PIPs are generally reserved for associates the firms want to fire.

Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be. I have colleagues doing intense data science tasks as BI Analysts, and can’t help but feel indignant on their behalf because when hearing their job title, one would underestimate their technical ability.

Desperately want to get into healthcare strategy consulting. 13 years of healthcare clinical experience including project work. MBA. But keep getting told by recruiters that I don't have enough experience to be a Consultant or Manager but that I have too much experience to enter in every level such as a Senior Associate. Just one rejection after another, even when applying with internal referrals from Director or Partner levels. What am I doing wrong?
