Is it reasonable to leave if not promoted to Senior next year? I left b4 tax after two busy seasons because I knew I didn’t want to do tax anymore. Left for a position in F100 consolidations role. Group is small, about 6 people. Not much growth and people here have been with company 10+ years and are barely a senior. I have my CPA and manager said he doesn’t value CPA as much as he doesn’t have one. I feel like I have my answer if I should leave next year but seeking validation. 5 days in offic

Comp is decent at 85k for 2YOE in Mcol. No hybrid at all. In office 5 days a week. Conservative leadership

Your best bet is to switch. Moving jobs has the perk of higher pay and maybe a better title.

You could NEVER get me to go back to public accounting

Go back to public, maybe audit? I’m making a lot of assumptions here but it seems as if you’re driven and care about experience/ comp etc. CPA shouldn’t be the only criteria for promotion but it damn well tells me that this is a person who put in the work. Go somewhere where they value the certification and compensate you for it.
