Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

I honestly don't think it would hurt a ton, especially if you give them time and don't message very often. I think if you've waited a week or waited as long as they told you it might take to hear a respose, you're well within your rights to message them
Ok thank you for the feedback!
Yeap, I've had some success there. I messaged a few recruiters who've posted about a position I was interested in, and they were quick to provide decent feedback. I would like the post and request to connect on LinkedIn introducing myself and saying I'm interested in the position they posted.
That’s good to hear that someone has had success!
OP I don't think there is anything wrong with messaging a recruiter directly on Linked in as I have done it myself. Sometimes you get a response and sometimes you don't but its definitely worth a shot, especially in this job market. Best of luck to you.
Ok cool that is what I was thinking. Thanks!
