What is a good salary for a director in NY?
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

That's not bad at all. Not everybody wants to be in leadership or management. I certainly don't. I like what I do and I don't want to take on a bunch of managerial responsibilities that distract me from the things that I enjoy.

Your title says manager. Are you a manager but not people leader ?
some companies have a promote or push out policy for certain tracks. when i worked in cpg i know that was the case for the brand managers. they were trying to grow company leaders. but it really depends on the role.
Depending on the role not a problem at all

Some will say yes. Some will say no. I think what fits your life is best.
No, it’s not wrong. Some people just don’t want to be in leadership.
I want to stay at this level and am trying to figure out how to still get raises beyond COL each year
