Is life any easier/more balanced if working in the crypto space? Has anyone made this move? Would love to hear

I think it really depends on the company more than anything.

I haven't made the move personally but I have a friend who did. I wouldn't say its any easier but he does seem to have better wlb than I do.

I doubt it. I have a few friends who were cut and left stranded when crypto crashed, and their jobs weren't all that secure to begin with. This is just an assumption, but I feel like it's kind of chaotic.

Nope. Just as chaotic as anything else in finance. Best bet for wlb in this industry is making a FIRE plan imo.

I am a traditional reservist so I never really used military benefits before, but could use advice here.

I am currently renting and my lease is not up until October 2021, however I found a good deal on a home and scheduled to close in June 2021.

My landlord will not work with me to end the lease early, so it looks like I will have to double up on rent and mortgage through the summer.

If I went on active duty orders, can I use those orders to break my lease early without penalty?

From a financial standpoint in this market, which would be a better approach in Austin -

1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.

How easy is it to get a mortgage for the second home?

Household income - 300k

Happy to add more details as needed

Thanks

What are potential exit opportunities in commercial banking? Are the skills transferable to other roles in finance?

Dilemma… I left my old company 4 months ago. Today, they’ve reached out to me to ask me to come back at a higher role, Operations Manager. I would’ve jumped on this opportunity if they asked me before. However, this role would be hybrid (2x in office) and come along with more responsibilities and hours than my current WFH role which is very chill. The pay is only 15% more than I currently make. Any thoughts?
