I have some doubt regarding pf contribution... Say for example.. 12% of my base salary is 600 which gets deducted from my salary.. on the flip side.. the company has to contribute 600 to my pf (which is actually deducted from my salary only like already part of CTC)?. So my question again is that.. the company contributes 600 as well? PwC

It’s relative. Depending on what you’re in banking vs consulting vs tech/product management.
Overall you are doing well.
I would say someone who entered consulting from their undergrad would be at about manager and even senior manager (engagement manger) at 29. I would say you could hit anywhere between 110 and 200+ most of my peers are about 140 to 180
However if you pursued other interests like advancing your education, experimenting with other career fields, pausing so you can focus on life or travel or if you decided to pursue true expertise and became a SME or advance your skillsets —- hitting 120k is more than impressive
Only you can answer that question. You can't compare yourself to others. It depends on your lifestyle. I am 29 as well. I eat out a lot, travel, scuba dive (a stupidly expensive hobby) and spend a stupid amount of money on designer bags (another stupidly expensive hobby). But that's my lifestyle. So if you were to ask me if 120K is good I'll be honest and say not really. I'm currently in the job market and my minimum base is 200. Now, I look at some of my friends that are also 29. They make 70K and still have a great lifestyle and feel like they are making more than enough. If you asked them if 120 was good they would say it's incredible!!! But again, it's lifestyle choices and what matters. I make 200K base but I have no free time and zero work life balance. I work weekends, and till 1am most nights. So ask yourself, is that 200K worth it? For myself, I accept it, because I really don't have a social life outside work and I'm fine with it. It's a trade off. So for the amount of work I do, I wouldn't be happy with 120, but if you then say 120, and I get weekends off and less hours... ya, that 120 looks and sounds great. I am saying this not to brag, but because you need to reframe your question and ask yourself what matters to you? Is it the dollar value? Is it your free time? Can you do the hobbies you enjoy? Can you afford your rent? Those are the questions you should ask? It's not the most productive to throw out a number and ask strangers if it's good. It's super subjective! As long as you are happy with it, that's what matters ❤️
When I was graduating I set my goal of earning 150 by 30 and hit it at 29
Dammit, I did it backwards. I set a goal of 30k by 150 years old. I'm currently right on track to meet target.
Yup
Yes
Are you asking if it’s a good salary for your field or if it’s a good amount to live on in Toronto?
If it’s the latter, I think you can live pretty well on that salary here. Not lavishly, and you probably won’t be buying a house any time soon, but you can live in a nice place, go out to dinners and go on vacations with that.
I think 120k is decent for a single 29 year old in Toronto.
Definitely impacts if you’re “dink”ing around. That dual income no kids is one of life’s cheat codes.
Not amazing but good enough to survive. I’d say $180k base is good for that age.
Teachers and registered nurses are McDonald’s workers? Plenty of post secondary educated workers in careers making in that $70-80K/year range. You might be a little out of touch over at Amazon
I’m older and make way less so 6 figure income at your age is solid, also are yall hiring lol
Someone single with no debt? Sure. Someone supporting a family? No.
