They can lay off as many creatives as they want. The problems are and will be the same: terrible management and no real clients.
Somehow I have a feeling Sarah Krass will fix this whole problem...said no one ever
A good creative dept manager gets to know people’s strengths and skills and uses them accordingly. They don’t just throw who’s ever free on a project. Sure it’s great to have a pool of people working across all brands but putting a comedy writer on a b2b white paper type project isn’t maybe the best fit. Get to know your fucking department. He’s good at long copy. She rocks social posts and sizzle videos. That French dude who only can do archive type work? Make him earn his paycheck by working on real clients.
I scrolled to one post about it. Fishbowl cmon - we had amazing creatives laid off and CBH had his squad ready to go to replace. Didn’t even wait to replace.
@TBWA4 -- has one even made enough stuff as a junior to be a hack?
Tbwa 9 sums up the attitude of the place quite nicely in fact. Talent, not humans. Herds of talent. Until you’re not talent. If you want to be treated like a human, go somewhere else. Frannie does a pretty good job of brewing malcontent by treating people like they’re not human. And so does her little minion.
Let’s talk about it
Exactly. Place was too too heavy. And will be again. No mentoring. Frannie running creative dept into ground. People aren’t being used to the best of their ability, just thrown blindly into projects
So let’s get this straight everyone’s angry?
It's literally everywhere just scroll down
What CBH replacement squad are you talking about?
Heard it was ten
Good creatives got let go. All the weak juniors kept their jobs only because of their lower salaries. Sooooo many hack jrs that don’t know shit
Too top heavy
I heard 7-8? Anyone hear differently?
@tbwa4 how's Frannie ruining things? Unfamiliar with the structure there but curious what made you call her out specifically
Yes and no. It’s true that with new leadership usually comes new talent but Frannie is not only the deliverer of bad news. She’s been pretty much in charge of recruiting since she joined and she’s laid off people she hired a couple of months ago.
He took people from BBDO?
Around how many people got laid off?
Fairly standard when a new CCO comes in. If the leader of a department assesses the talent and decides there are alterations needed, layoffs are often the result. Does it suck? Yes. Is it at odds with how every other organization in the entire world evaluates talent with new leadership?Nope. Frannie was the deliverer of bad news, not to blame for people’s malcontent with an organization.
