Is the excel feature on the CPA exam like normal excel? Or is it similar to Becker where you can’t use keyboard shortcuts?

It’s almost identical to Becker. Limited functionality and no shortcuts

like

Becker more or less mirrors their spreadsheet tool against the one used in the exam, so you can get used to using it...at least they did when I took it back when dinosaurs ruled the earth

likesmart

I thought the spreadsheet tool was a new feature they added this year lol

like

Ha ha ha VP- it was paper, pencil and op scan when I took it- pre-dinosaurs?!?

It’s a real excel. Nothing like becker’s

It used to be like Becker's but not anymore! I took 3 exams this last quarter and the new excel is almost like the real one, limited shortcuts though

Hi guys I am posting this again I have offer of almost same package from Accenture and IBM . Accenture offering is very slight more but that's not my key consideration. Which company is better in terms of job security, work life balance. That's the top most factor I am considering. Learning and project and latest niche technology is the other important factor after first 2 factors .

How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??
