Is there a shortage of people with accounting degrees in PA firms

CPA is only needed to sign opinions. There is not a shortage of CPA partners. There are also plenty of other services accounting firms perform where a CPA isn’t needed. Requiring people to get a CPA to be promoted to manager is a scam.

Some accounting firms that deal with taxes may have tax attorneys, so having a law degree at a PA firm isn't unusual.

Yes. It’s why salary increases have been so strong for juniors at the expense of seniors

I doubt it but even if there was, so what?

The shortage of licensed CPAs can in part be linked to meeting requirements to sit for the exam… so maybe?

No?

You don’t need an undergraduate accounting degree to be a CPA so I don’t think that the firms would view it as a shortage since it isn’t really necessary.

Yea you can get those hours from a community college

Hmm where did you hear that OP? I haven't heard that but it doesn't mean its not true.

I am the primary breadwinner and far out earn my husband and my stepson’s bio mom. I have always put pressure on myself to succeed (Cont.)
