Is there really a big difference in consulting pay if you work on the federal health side vs. private sector? My SO has 15yoe and Guidehouse only offered 145k with 12% bonus. Seems SUPER low when I see others making at least 170k+ for the same work. I don’t want to offend SO but definitely want to encourage countering such a low ball offer, if it’s indeed low ball. No masters and leaving Deloitte corp for consulting side. Thoughts?

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. Outside counsel has been prepping company witnesses for a trial in August. It is my subject area so I am supervising outside counsel. I did not, however, choose the counsel. He is doing a really awful job. Co counsel is better, but not great either. Higher ups love the firm… I do not want to micromanage, but I have genuine concerns about outside counsel’s ability to try this case.
