Ritz or JW in Cancun?
Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

100k is an excellent offer. There are other perks like doordash and peloton credits to make up for the $99 annual fee (I think that’s what it is). If anything, get the card and cancel after first year or convert to a free card. 100k = $1250 minimum if you just use their pay me back promo.
Yah I plan to open it and eventually downgrade it
Yes it’s an awesome deal. Worst case you cancel after a year and are +$1150 or more and are still eligible for those other good cards.
The citi doublecash is great and simple (NEVER get statement credit tho). However the chase freedom unlimited is even better as long as you have the sapphire. The chase ecosystem is much better overall, but if you’re a relatively low traveler and restaurant spender (and not spending for a partner/spouse/family) then you may be better off without annual fee cards for a while.
Thanks makes sense!
It’s a no-brainer awesome deal. If you want to travel, upgrade it to CS Reserve after 1 year. You’ll get way more value than 2% cashback (e.g., through transfer partners like Hyatt). If nothing else, downgrading it to a free card after you get your bonus makes it easily worth it (although this isn’t a value maximizing move).
I am not sure when I’d use the chase sapphire card over the citi 2% though. That’s the main issue is I wouldn’t see myself using it often. My main purpose for this card is racking up points for future travel
For travel and restaurants, you should use sapphire over citi 2%. (And for everything else you should use Chase Freedom Unlimited (or Flex/regular for higher-return categories).)
Everyone is hawking it because of the referral money they get for it. It’s a good bonus but the card isn’t at all competitive now. If you already have a citi 2% card, you should also get a premier or prestige in order to turn that 2x into points. Other options now are: amex platinum 100k and Cap One 100k, which with the recent changes is as if not more competitive than chase UR.
Hyatt is fantastic. That alone makes it easily worth it.
