my company is giving 2-5% annually, which (at the low end) is just above the rate of inflation. if your cost of living is rising higher than the rate of inflation, i'm not sure that's a problem your employer is equipped to solve.
I’d say yes but only because I have an equally high earner partner. We are lucky, but do worry about how long until it feels tight.
We're a DINK couple so we're pretty lucky. But I know a lot of people who are struggling right now to make ends meet. I think we'd have a harder time with kids, sick parents, etc.
I have only had 1 raise in the last three years and though it would have been a nice raise by normal circumstances, it still puts me below inflation. I'm noticing lately that I'm putting a lot less money into savings and having to watch my budget more carefully when it comes to groceries and other expenses. Another couple of years like this and I am going to be in very big trouble.
