I have some good ex colleagues who moved over there and also looked up on LinkedIn and see lots of seemingly smart and accomplished people in their D&A team in the UK.
I'll ask my ex colleagues too, but wanted to see if people here have any opinion or information on this too.
TIA

While people you met through the interview process are important, especially coming in as an experienced hire, it doesn’t matter “that” much. You will have old coworkers leaving and new coworkers entering constantly so that in a year or two, the majority of faces you knew at day 1 would have changed.
No NY office for a major consulting firm has a truly “family” style office.

I promise we’re good people too and we’d love to have you OP
NY office is def not family style but your career trajectory is much higher at mck so it's just a trade off / personal decision
People say this, but genuinely curious what opportunities have you had that you don’t think you could have had at Tier 2?
The McK stripe goes a LONG way at a lot of companies. And no office is a “family,” it’s work. (Sorry.)
This ^. Don’t be fooled!
A few years back, I rejected a McK offer and joined Kearney because of the very same reason - I just loved the type of people I met during the process at Kearney and for me personally, that was always super important. I listened to my gut feeling back then and never regretted it…
I lateraled to McK EM after being an OW EM in New York. Happy to chat if you want.
Mck for sure..as much as I feel the same about ow

+1 for McKinsey. We have amazing people I promise!
What level at EY are you now to be able to come in as a EM?
I am in FSO, Risk Management practice
Which office?
Just no, not OW NY office...
McK people will say McK. OW people will say OW. One thing you could do is be open and transparent to the people you’ve met and ask if you can spend more time meeting people from both companies in person to find out more about the firms. It’s your life and your career, not other people’s on this bowl.
I’m an OW person saying McK - the family style culture is nice for a little while but eventually it feels cult-ish. Plus there’s way more perks and a broader range of work at McK (source: My partner works at McK)

It's McK!!!!
Are you doing it for a few year LS to jump to something else (in which case def mck) or long term (in which case think about where you want to make and be a partner, and the difference in partner comp isn’t all that matters)
If you liked your experience at OW more, and it was significant enough of a margin, go with your gut.
I turned down an offer for $20k more so I could join Deloitte based on my interview experience, and I haven't regretted it for a single moment. That said, I also knew that the people I met during the interview process would be the leaders I interacted with the most once I joined
I love Deloitte too. It’s harder to get into than Harvard
Thank you all! Lots of insightful feedback. I have until Friday to make my mind.
Choose McK no doubt
