I have never been one of those who criticize the government for creating jobs. If I could wave a magic wand and have things my way, the federal government would've taken over GM and bought one of the major petroleum companies and let the profits from those companies help support government services. I think it would be better to create "deadhead" government jobs that provide people with a living wage and some dignity than make them rely on government assistance programs that condemn them to poverty and offer no hope for improving their lot in life.

It seems like the increase in jobs is more a result of lots of vacancies from the pandemic now being filled and people flocking to state and local government jobs with the private job market shedding employees with all those layoffs.

This just seems to be a temporary balancing act and once the vacancies are filled, if layoffs continue, the job market will remain problematic.

Totally a temporary fix to get numbers up. You'll see 50% of these jobs eliminated in the next 4 years. Change my mind.

If they are permanent positions they almost certainly won’t be eliminated.

I think it's good even if it's only a temporary fix. It is part of the expectations of a government that they will step in to correct market inefficiencies. If the private sector is not creating enough jobs, then it's on the government to create vacancies that people can fill. Even if they get eliminated down the line that still means people could get by, earn a living, and develop experience that will help them down the line for another job. Sometimes temporary measures are viable.

Who knows, but my guess is that the private sector is bracing itself for the long haul with things. A lot are trying to right their wrongs essentially with overhiring during covid. My hope is that it’ll be a return to normal at some point, but until then I recommend take advantage with whoever is hiring.

My horrible experience working as a Defense Contractor. The Gov. is in control even if they dont tell the correct version of the situation. I was burned from a position and they couldn’t say why? .. my contracting company could not question them either. There are HUGE instabilities working for the Gov - Gov. Shutdowns, re-organizing, modifications to contracts, dishonesty, double standards, and they still come out smelling like a rose 🥀 Think before you accept your Offer Letter. The Gov can do no wrong - i saw liquor in the office refrigerator- and thats ok? Booze is not allowed in a Gov. Facility. A Govn person brought it in and they bi-passed security because they’re an employee? — WTF ?
They will have to answer for what they did to me some day. Their Judgment Day is coming!

It is an interesting form of welfare. In a rough market the gov can hire people cheaply. It's only a problem when they don't have the tax revenues they expect... and then they get a bailout, and everything is all better. When the job market improves, people leave those jobs for better pay and the gov is just 'understaffed' until they can take advantage of a poor job market again.

After working 5+ years and letting life happen, I ended up back with a staff title (no career/group change). Everyone said I was doing well throughout my career. But most of peers are now managers, senior managers, directors, controllers, etc. I really don’t want to compare, but how do I deal with this so it doesn’t bother me? Has anyone else been in this situation? I feel partly ashamed because all of the work I put in didn’t get me very far in my career.

1. MSc Management

3. MBA (not so easy as I don't want to give GMAT, will select certain colleges that do not need GMAT score)

Anyone with Jamf certificates ? Is there any scope and opportunity for one who completed this course...

I need advice. I met an amazing guy on a dating app. We talked for 4 months and most of the convo was sexual. I fell so hard for him and it was because when we met up in person he was so kind, caring, and respectful towards me. He never initiated conversation with me first, but if I messaged him, he would respond back immediately. Then after 4 months he ghosted me on the app we were talking on. I texted him and he told me he had a gf. I am completely heartbroken. What kind of behavior was this?

We know there are few places in the country that feel like this at the end of October.
