My experience in this job has been mostly positive. Generally, I found that customers are respectful and appreciative of the hard work and dedication we put in. I have had one or two instances where customers have been less than pleasant, but overall I have enjoyed my time working in this role. It can be challenging at times, but it's also a very rewarding job.
Oh it is horrendous!! You just know that these offshore employees are making barely living wages and getting the worst of customer interactions because of racial prejudices, etc. I haven't personally witnessed our higher-ups showing them disrespect but I think the bad pay is disrespectful enough. I have no idea what can be done with this.. the problem seems too massive to respond to
I always feel bad for offshore agents, just being CSR myself. I feel like a lot of times, the English isn't really bad, but they tend to talk fast. Accents also do not help, but it's not like that's something you can control.
Customers use you as a punching bag and you are forced to sit there and be polite. It’s frustrating, so I usually tell agents to try their best not to take it personally. Get through this call, take a breath, and move on to the next. Make the most out of your break time or if you actually get availability, find something to take your mind off that one person that pissed you off earlier. It's not a job for everyone and it requires a tremendous amount of patience.
