I’ve applied to four roles in the past two months that asked for references before an interview. I don’t want to keep bothering the same people unless I know I’m a serious candidate. How do you manage references when you’re applying widely?

That strikes me as unusual. I wonder if they've all had problems with people applying under false pretenses or something. Verifying people in that manner before even talking to them seems strange. I guess there's just not a lot of trust these days.

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. Now that I have, are there any sites besides “jobscan” that I can use to make sure my resume fits the job descriptions? Does anybody know any recruiters that could help me, as well?

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?
