I’ve been feeling incredibly frustrated at the lack of follow through and systemic change that our industry promises over and over. Remember the black squares? Remember the Commit to Change initiative? Remember all your favorite agencies talking loud about racial and gender equality?

So instead of punching the wall I’ve been stepping up my random acts of kindness.
I saw an old man with only one functional leg and arm, struggling with groceries. I carried them to his apartment 2 blocks away...

A unhoused man on the train was sleeping with a cardboard sign that said “will work for food”. I woke him up gently and handed him a crisp $50. An older and rather obese woman was struggling up the stairs at TS, I offered her a hand and held her elbow while we slowly climbed to street level. I missed my connection. It was ok.

My only point is- we can’t do much to change the racist misogynistic dinosaurs. We can just keep voting and caring and being human.

The more the world shits on all of us and marginalizes us- the more we have to fight for our humanity.

These small acts, while almost insignificant outside of me or the people I’m helping, are in some ways more important now than ever.

Less of a question, more of a request... stop asking your junior BIPOC strats to work on BLM briefs because they are the only voice of color on your team. In a time where we need support grappling with our very REAL realities and how it impacts how we show up in the agency, the LAST thing we need is an “opportunity” to express our “unique POV” on a diversity brief (that we won’t even get to speak to none the less). Imagine having to chanbel your trauma into a deck to sell in an idea to clients?

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. I am frustrated as a Gay Woman who has given her all for 30+ years grinding to be the best. I have been in closet, out of closet, in-between and am tired of it. I want to be VALUED as a human being. I have gone from Rock Star to problem when people "found out". I have trained and promoted hundreds of people and been passed over for promotions because of not being a man. Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. I got offer from persistent with 31lpa.
But most of the compensation they added into skill bonus-1400000. Due to that my basic salary is low- 50k as compared to my cctc basic salary, which is 63k with 19.5lpa.
Is it normally happening with everyone joining to persistent?
Can Persistent increase basic salary component and reduce the skill bouns?
I asked hr to increase my basic, but she mentioned that it’s system generated and standard format, vary cmpny to cmpny.
