Ive been freelancing since I left my most recent design job in Alaska (moved to SC) and had to take a day job out of the art field to make ends meet. I apply to 2-5 jobs per week for the past 6 months or so. (most are remote) My question being… are recruiters simply dismissing my application because of my age? Im 46. My portfolio doesn’t suck, my design education is from SCAD- its quality. I stay current with software, etc. What should I be doing differently? TIA

I have taken the interview on 27th July 2022 and next day I got an update that I am selected and I will be connected by HR for further proceedings.

With all details I have shared, I have been told that the approvals are pending and the offer will get released soon.

Now, they have mentioned it will be released next week.

Had an interview for an associate position at Citi. Interviewee was based in London and I’m in NYC. The only interview time that worked was 6am. I was barely functioning and feel like I truly messed up in my answers because I couldn’t not think clearly. I have another with the head of the division next week again at 6am (pre determined before this interview). I am finishing up a project and I’m trying to document what I’ve done for my resume. What are some good metrics for someone who mainly created user stories, created dashboards, interacted with the client and developed statistical models? Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

A year ago, I got promoted to Art Director, and since our team is pretty small, I’m still very hands-on in terms of designing.
