I've been hearing a lot about this SSI on LinkedIn and it is concerning. So, apparently SSI is considered a ranking system of Social Selling Index that rates your personal brand on LinkedIn. If it is a low score this will impact your ability to be perceived as a qualified applicant for jobs. I believe this is very bias and becoming a popularity contest. LinkedIn is a tool for networking & a professional social media platform. LinkedIn has become so greedy for business it hurts job seekers.

How do you assess your client time as billable or non-billable? We are currently reviewing our time card process and want to better establish groundwork for differentiating between the two. Further to that, do you have your time members log their time and categorize it as Billable/Non-Billable upon submission? or does the Account Manager review submitted time cards and assign each based on the work being logged?

Firm wants me to back pay last year FICA tax(Social Security and Medicare tax).
Last year I started working as F-1 and transition to H1b. Firm never withheld FICA tax.

Now they ask me to back pay last year FICA tax and then will send me W2c form.

The catch is I already file my tax without those FICA tax. Should I pay them and file tax amendment?

Hi!! I’m an HR Coordinator currently (about two years of experience) but my job has so many responsibilities and tasks I’m beyond burnt out. It’s truly impossible to focus on one task because things are constantly being thrown my way. I’ve heard whisperings of a promotion or raise, but my workload is already too much, I don’t know if I’d want to accept more responsibility. Is it normal to feel like you have just as many responsibilities as your superiors who make 30k+ more than you?

I’ve been in my current position (Bookkeeper) for 4 years now. I’m highly interested in taking the PHR, and I’m wondering if I would qualify for the 4 year HR professional job requirement to be eligible to test for the certificate. I work for a small business, therefore I do all the on boarding paperwork/payroll. Any advice is appreciated.

We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. Has anyone successfully made the career move from an HR specialization to an HRBP role? If so, how? I have been working for 7 years in a very niche HR specialization and while I wear many hats on the HR team, I feel like this is hard to express to recruiters or even get an interview for an HRBP role. My niche area has really burnt me out, as it’s very political and I want to expand my horizons. I am already working on completing my GPHR certification. Any other tips?
