I’ve been in industry now for 2 years as a staff accountant. I was offered two jobs. One was EY audit staff with 58k salary and the other was in financial services company for high 60s salary and regular accounting duties. Should I take the pay cut, stay 2 to 3 years in audit and then move on or should I take the job in industry. EY will provide a lot of exposure but the hours and low pay don’t look very appealing. Only good thing is experience, resume build and exit opportunities. Thoughts???EY

Anyone works in public sector/government audit what is your salary progression?

I got a call from KPMG HR for the role of Associate consultant in research team, When she asked me about the expected ctc, I think I quoted less than the market standards but since I am underpaid currently so the amount I quoted was 40-45% hike on my fixed. I have experience of 2.9years
Can anybody please suggest if I clear their interviews will they consider increasing CTC from whatever I quoted becase upon searching for ACon roles they pay much higher than what I quoted.

I am a 3rd year senior associate in alternative investment tax and up for manager promotion this year. I really dislike the long hours of this job and seeking to make a move.
