If the work was more interesting i would join for a year then use BAH to get paid more elsewhere
Thanks! This is helpful.
Think into account PTO as well. At the associate level, you’ll get 20 days of PTO while many companies only offer 15
what benefits does BAH have lmao
Thanks that helps 🙏🏽
I forgot to mention that I see near zero career progression at my current company.
already hitting your ceiling is a HUGE account. even with an "average" raise, at 5k less at a new company (even if they dont adhere to their 1 year promotion), youd make more in the long run. I made a spreadsheet that included salary+bonus+pto+401k match -health/insurance costs to get a full picture. This really helped me consider a job offer for more that actually would be less because of worse PTO 401k match and insurance costs.
I wanted to share an update based on the insightful discussions on this post. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback, as well as to my colleagues and family who helped guide my decision. After careful consideration, I’ve decided to move forward with the offer.
One of the most impactful conversations I had was with a colleague from my current team. They shared a valuable perspective, stating that in their experience, ‘what you have is what you get’—indicating little chance for significant raises or upward mobility at my current company. There were other key factors, which I won’t go into, but the general consensus was clear: ‘Stay if you want, leave if you can.’
Thanks again to everyone who contributed to this decision. I guess I am now officially part of the BAH crowd.
Personally, I would never advocate for a pay cut. Your current salary should be enough incentive for them to pay you your worth
