Might be worth checking around if there is anything out there, but also hearing the job market is really tough so I would be hesitant to immediately jump ship. If it’s been 4 years too, I wouldn’t expect much from the company to be any different.
There is nothing wrong with seeing what's out on the market. Also, put your LinkedIn as "open to new opportunities" where you are casually looking. Your job shouldn't see it and it's supposed to be anonymous. You can make it private
Yes, go and explore. Try to get out of there. If you use linkedin premium, you have the option to make your new status only visible to recruiters. A demotion may be a good idea, too. No salary is high enough to balance anxiety and headaches. And other companies have really nice colleagues, too.
Look into the companies you’re applying at to see if it’ll really be different. I work at a big biopharm and have friends at others that also have a lot of ongoing change for years and years. Maybe you’d be happier at a midsize or smaller biotech but you’ll trade big company changes for more of a grind and leaner teams .
If having a job is important for you, I would like to say continue until you find an alternate one! Job market is brutal and I wouldn't let go what you have!
