I have been working in the construction industry for 2 years under a general contractor. I am wanting to get into consulting and my ideal role would be something like an Associate in Major Projects Advisory with KPMG. I’m curious to know which firms/companies have positions and departments like the one mentioned that I could apply for?
LinkedIn is the new Facebook I see. 😖

PwC has provisionally cleared me to join the firm first week of Jan. What does this mean? Can I start working with them even if the background check is still running in parallel? Can I quit my current job and expect everything to be cool? They said it's taking them longer to verify education and previous employment. Both of which are international.
Any book recommendations on change management?
🥱🥱 you can’t never trust nobody

No, we don't do anything like that. I like that idea, it's kind of old school, I remember relatives of mine had tie pins that commemorated work anniversaries. Of course, that was when people would work for one company for decades.
It does seem old school, doesn’t it?
We celebrate milestones like this with team lunches or happy hours. Nothing official from the company, just all of us celebrating each other. Personally I'd be insulted if I got a pin from my clinic though, I'd rather have a raise!
Yeah the pin is kind of just another piece of trash/clutter in my opinion.
Nope - 12 years at United health care and I’ve got nothing but new depression/anxiety medications.
I feel this
I got a backpack 🎒 for one year at the company. I quit 3 days later.
Fill the backpack with the contents of your desk and walk away!
We get a magnetic plaque and a gift every 5 years of service. We get to select the gift.
That’s nice you get to select a gift!
Yeah I got a pin for five years it was kind of nice I guess
Yes, I just received my 3 year pin for being at my Job in July.
Crazy ,do you ever get a raise,,
Use to work at a place decades ago that did the same for 2 and 5. Now I work at a place that gives a bonus for 5, 10, 15 :)
For 25 years, I got a pin and a purse. Yeah me.
No and what else did you get? That was all? We used to get bags every year to carry out stuff in for work! Not this year they us a new set of scrubs with gathered legs at the ankles and I hate straight legs to begin with so they doe no good just because the office ladies like them but they don't bend down and back up and have to pull them back down again!

I got a big gold bell with my name engraved on it when I retired from my district last June.
It’s very nice but kind of useless. lol

Yes we get pins....when I first started I thought it was a nice gesture...but it's never done on time and mine have always been just handed to me "here is your pin"
No “thank you for your service” or anything 😭😭
We do! We are a nonprofit, so old school works for us budget-wise. We also did new swag for our 50th. CHC has been incredibly flexible during hard personal times and treats people well, so the token gift is totally fine.
In the past, I got a clock for 5 years at a corporation Where I had to spend a Disney vacation planning a
I just celebrated 12 years, I just got a email. they took all those appreciation perks away from us 2 years ago.
Not yearly, but on big milestones (5, 10, 20) our company sends out a card and a booklet with stuff we can order (ranging from necklaces, speakers, backpacks, etc.) They're never the best quality, and I've only had one gift in my 11 years actuall work, but it's the thought that counts?
I got a pin for 25 years this year. It's the company logo with a little plastic shiny "diamond" on it.
One week before my one year and after putting a 160 page PPT quarterly presentation together, they terminated me when I came back from working remotely after undergoing stem cell and chemotherapy and working through my hospitalization. Consider yourself lucky for a healthcare organization.

As a chemo patient myself, I hope you’re feeling well and taking care of yourself. 💙
Where I worked we had celebratory dinners for increments of 5 years. My first one was at the new Denver Bronco’s football stadium. The meal was out of this world great. Got a tour of the stadium, went down to field level, not on the field but the sidelines. It was amazing. For my 10 years we had a high end dinner in Denver again and awards given out. This included anyone over 30 years, didn’t gave to be a 5th year increment. It was amazing too. They made it fun for everybody. I was just shy of 15 years when we got laid off.
I have been with my current OB/GYN office for 4 years in March. They give us $200 for every month if that year we were with the office. Don't get me wrong, I am VERY thankful for this gift, but it doesn't change no matter how many years you have been there. Last year they gave it to is and post dated it for after the new year. The account was broke into and they said we had to wait for it. Most of us relying on that check to help with Xmas for our children. 😊😊 Hopefully this year will be different! Hehe Happy Holidays everyone ❤❤
