Tell your managers:
Tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface
Caught in the undertow
off but always have high expectations. I feel very stressed about it and it starts impacting my personal life. Does anyone feel the same as me and have any tips how to feel better?
Stop caring so much. Seriously. You are just a senior. Being a senior will be the worst years of your career, or so I've been told. You do not sign off on anything. This job does not rest on you. Have honest conversations with your coach about wanting to keep the same clients year after year for consistency's sake, etc, and make sure your plate isn't overloaded. Constantly check in with your managers about status, informal feedback, and emotional state so they know exactly when you get overwhelmed. Take time to yourself
Had the exact same thing happen to me. Didn’t turn out well. Every time I needed to ask a question, the people that were around didn’t know the answer and the ones who did know the answer weren’t around.
I work pretty well at the clients I have worked on continuously, but we’ve had a lot of employees leave and work being allocated to new people. I don’t think managers + really appreciate the amount of client knowledge that you learn as a staff that help you become a better senior
Your managers are lazy. Ask for guidance and follow up by email. When HR gets involved you will have all of the email to support you
You may not have a whole lot of time for this, but to the extent that you can, flip through all the (or the major) PY files and get an idea of what was happening. That way you can at least have a coherent conversation with someone if you need to follow up or get asked questions. Maybe schedule a meeting with the managers before the engagement starts and go over the big ticket items and what the client generally does/what issues they encounter. I think proactivity is key especially here.
Same same
As a manager... if you tell me you need help/guidance or I visibly see it, I’m going to be there. I don’t like it when partners get in my business without being tagged in ( like bruh I got this!!) so perhaps I project that on my seniors and try to stay out of it to a detriment. However, if you start an honest dialogue about , or beyond, just not wanting to take steps to solve your problems on your own, I’m going to be there for you if there is anyway I can be. . Moral of the story is one of the greatest assets in PA is being able to communicate and to just let ppl known wjeee things stand
