Yes, at a bare minimum, you will need to earn your degree before you’ll be considered for a role. Once you earn your degree, you’re looking at entry-level jobs first. It’s not great, but it is how you get your foot in the door in this industry.
I understand that I'll need to come in as entry level, but it's just crazy how I can't even come in at entry level to gain said "experience" until after I graduate. I know I sound absolutely desperate when I attach the cover letter asking for a chance, even with having the computer skills I do, I'm just so frustrated.
If you desperately need some sort of medial office experience just for a resume and skill building, don’t limit yourself to human practice. The veterinary field is always looking for front desk, it’s a revolving door. That would give you some form of experience being a scheduler, fielding calls, etc. It won’t be the exact same because it’s not coding or billing but I am just throwing this out there.
In my area job the market is tough and it’s hard to find a full time job (with benefits) let alone one that pays enough to survive without eating ramen for every meal! I get your struggle completely and I live by myself lol
Have you looked into doing an internship? That is a good way to get some experience when you are having trouble getting hired. There are definitely internships in medical offices.
I've asked for internships but have been told that due to liability issues I would need to be on the payroll as an employee.
