Hi all,
Does your organization have a good work-life balance, especially for IDs? Or do you know any such organisation? Currently I am working for more than 12 hours a day. I am a mother of one year old, hence, want to switch to the organization, which has less work pressure.

This used to worry me when most of my calls first turned into video calls. I now tell people I’m taking notes and use multiple screens, so they may not see me consistently focused on the camera. I then worry less about this.
Yes. It’s called sensory overload in ADHD folks like us. We are very analytical and visual people.
If we see things happening on screen , we analyze it.So it’s hard to analyze what we see on a zoom call and at the same time also analyze what we hear.
It’s much simpler to just focus on listening. I usually look down and listen carefully, also shake my head and ask good questions in a conversation. That shows I am focused and not rude.
Also I take hand written notes, so looking down gets justified that way. But yes, not looking at the speaker on a zoom call does seem rude if we can’t justify it and don’t make eye contact once in a while.
On my last project, the SC- not the client- demanded we have the camera on the entire time.
Do you mean all day long, and not just during meetings?
It’s worth a conversation with the SC around how this distracts you from focusing on your work. No need to bring up ADHD if that’s not something you normally share.
If that goes nowhere, you may want to discuss strategies with your coach.
