I've recently noticed many people juggling a busy work life with personal investments and long-term financial planning. It seems that while income is important, asset allocation, risk management, and a long-term perspective are equally crucial.

How do you usually allocate your time and energy?

Do you focus more on career development, or do you dedicate some of your energy to investing and financial management?

This is one of the major advantages of buy and hold index investing. It doesn't take much time to do.

I am someone who spent more time on career than investment. The market has changed. Cost of living changed. My advice us to do both equally. Your investments done right could advance your wealth further than your career.

I use regular investments in broad index funds. They also have the added benefit of not causing independence violations, which is important in public accounting.

2-3 hours per month in total. Update my tracker and refresh the investment strategy for the next month

Hello all. My company just went through an acquisition and the company did some restructuring of job titles. When they did this we were all advised the company would be making sure our jobs pay aligned with the national average.
My issue with this is my job title went from a Technical Support Supervisor to a Customer Success Team Lead. I have voiced my concerns with management but have been advised job titles are semantics. In my eyes this is a demotion, and will affect how much my job is worth.

I found out last night that a senior copywriter at my agency who does little follow-up and passes off work to others (read: me) to handle when there are questions from team members…was recently promoted to copy supervisor.

Trust me when I say that this person can’t supervise putting toothpaste on a toothbrush. Must be nice to be liked by the right people.
