I've worked as an HR Generalist and Business Partner for over 15 years, and I'm ready to do something else. I have some pretty significant experience in compensation and I'd like to pivot into a role that's focused there. I know there are some certifications available through SHRM and World at Work - any thoughts from those in Comp whether these would compliment hands on work experience and if they might improve my chances of getting noticed for a role in Comp?

Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

However, once it’s comes down to me and 1-2 other candidates, I repeatedly have been turned down for the person who has more relevant experience as they’re a safer bet for the employer. I’ve been with my current company for a little over 5 years now and since the start of the pandemic have been WFH. I absolutely love WFH and have always wanted a position in which I could WFH. There is talk of bringing everyone back to the office full time and that’s not what I would like to happen. I’ve been searching for a new position in which it would be a remote role.
