What in the world... why do work for free. We have portfolios for a reason
☝️stop trying to normalize free creative work in this already free-loading industry
Good vibes from 360i
We do this for more senior roles, not just creative. It’s to see thought process, presentation skills, and acumen in the role. I’ve never seen any of these used later in client work. This is you pitching you. Make it count.
They don't want free work you morons they just want know how you present. If you will be doing that in your role it is just fair because you don't have a video presenting ideas on your book.
OP. Whatever you do just do it good and quit 360i soon.
Why work at a place that wants free work?!? We just had a 80 reply thread about this
Standard where? For what? I interviewed for plenty of positions at agencies and tech companies and no one ask me for free work
So many people put other people’s work in their books, I frankly wish more shops did this. I doubt it’s “free work” so much as a trial run.
Keynote or power point it...and yea if you want the gig do it. Panel most likely will be a few employees there as you present and they’ll probably ask questions. If they gave guidelines follow them. Some agencies love making you run through hoops so good luck.
Do not do. The assignment
@ACD1 why do you assume it is creative role we are talking about?
It's pretty standard for media roles. And what we can produce for a fake brief is no where near as valuable as creative work. It's super helpful to see someone's thought process and strategy.
Keynote or PPT. They want to see you present. It’s not as uncommon these days as some want you to believe
Do a presentation on why it’s complete and utter bullshit to do a spec assignment as part of an interview.
360i2 sounds like a blast. An interview already IS a presentation inherently. I could see this for a strategist or media folks, but for creatives it seems unnecessary.
This is the new thing. Treat it like a pitch. Exactly like one. It shows how u think about the challenge holistically. They will expect u to look at it from every discipline and every angle. Open. Close it. Consider data. Leverage trends. All of it
Is the assignment to present work you’ve done? Highly recommend following the instructions. If they ask for a ppt, don’t show up with a word doc
If you’re interviewing at Facebook - this is required. Either way — You should talk about your work and how it relates to the role, company values, etc. make it conversational and open for questions as possible. The recruiter should help you as well and you should have them at minimum look over your outline. They’re there to answer all your questions. GL
Going to go ahead and doubt this is an interview at Facebook
Pretty standard nowadays especially if going for more senior role. Do your homework and show them that you are serious (if you want the job). The assignment given should be in line with your day to day work, so they can see you in action.
