I am joining EY GDS next month. I have heard a lot about hectic work hours in EY and no work life balance. Is it true? If yes, how many hrs working should we expect in a day to be mentally prepared.

Anyone else having trouble finding free fraud based CPE trainings? My job does not pay for these things so I wasnt sure if anyone else had a solution or source. I need 4 more hours of fraud based CPE and havent found much on ACFE or AICPA that I can use. Ive joined a local CFE chapter but not much is going on with it.

Has anyone diversified and invested in govt bonds? What’s the yield like? Is there a lock-in term?

Omg what's happening to me? I keep having inception-like dreams.. This was the most intense one. I could feel everything I touched, the velvet walls, the lil nodes on the light switches, the chairs, I can hear ppl talking to me, asking qs, I said yes/no, felt the weight of someone when they sat down on the bed. How much money would you want to have before purchasing an apartment? I am considering buying an investment property, I have enough cash to purchase outright but it would basically decimate my savings. Mortgage is not an option as I would be purchasing in another country.

Am I understanding utilization rate correctly? It’s chargeable time over total time? Charged 40 hours and had 10 hours non-charge so my utilization is 80%? If so, wouldn’t it benefit me to understate non-charge hours so my utilization is higher since they only really care about chargeable time anyways? Charge 40 hours still but only put 5 hours non-charge for utilization to be 89% instead of 80%? Or am I misunderstanding how utilization works?
