Just an appreciation post to the single parents out there. ❤️❤️

My uncle I met a week ago suddenly died. He hid his heart condition from his wife, my aunt. He was having tea in the morning when he had a stroke. She did not have a last word or consider the possibility that he’d pass away so suddenly and soon. She is beating herself up over how he left and they didn’t have a chance to talk that morning. Fishes, sharing this so you call your loved ones today and not take people for granted.

It’s been 3 years since I (27F) moved to Seattle and still don’t have a solid social circle. Not necessarily a big group… I’m talking 3-4 friends who are easy going and not flakey/ hard to make plans with.

Idk if it’s due to Covid, Seattle freeze, a combination of the two or other factors. Any transplants out there who are NOT the outdoorsy type and feel the same? And if so, how did you get past it?

I am in a long distance relationship with someone who is currently in B school. He spends pretty much all his breaks and holidays traveling with his classmates. Most of the time I am fine. But for some important holidays and my birthday, I told him we should spend time together. He just said it’s more important for him to bond with his classmates and ignore my ask. It’s really disappointing and I don’t know what else to tell him. Is that a reasonable ask or am I being dramatic?

I know this isn’t a marriage therapy bowl, but my husband has a really terrible tendency of saying things like “you’re being really mean” and completely shutting down during a disagreement when i objectively am not being mean, just truthful or vocal about how i feel about something. It’s a really convenient argument for him because it enables him to either be the victim and me the villian, or forces me to concede my stance and not reach a true resolution. I'm realizing I don't really have any "healthy" ways of relaxing outside of work, so drop whatever you got. Not sure if this is the place to share this but i hit a pole a few months ago and there was no damage to the pole just my car. it was covid and i was in the process of moving/ the car was mostly fine so i didn’t file a claim. Now i find out it will cost 3k + out of pocket to fix. do i report it to the insurance company or is it too late?
