Hi All!
I am currently a Senior Software Engineer(Backend) with 4 YOE. My current CTC is 21LPA (All Fixed) with additional Yearly bonus. I got a call from Google (Pune/Bangalore/Remote) for Software Engineer - Backend. I have the following doubts but any insights are welcome -
1. Does the lower designation offered make any difference?
2. Kinda ambiguous, but what kind of hike or ballpark pay can I expect?
3. Any similar interviews experiences or focus areas I should prepare for?
First time cooking steak. Yay or nay!

FILE ME ALREADY
Yes, but stay on top of it with the attorney. Also if you need an h-1 renewal while waiting for the GC, stay on top of that. You will need the tweak if you are in year 3 or year 6 of the h-1. The renewal can be completed in as little as 3 weeks if you have the paperwork ready.
If in year six, you can get a one year h-1 extension as long as the perm application is filed or approved.
Haha Australian, whole thing took like 7 months
No new guidelines in place. Still the same process.
They put all PERM on hold for 5 months and just informed us that they will resume in April..Basically all perms on hold for 6 months ...I wonder what changes require 6 months of changes and training..Also I doubt other firms even paused their perm process ..So not sure what really EY was up to..Maybe this just an effort by the firm to make us use EY assist
As an Indian, after the 2 year PERM stage, it will take me an additional 9 years to get a green card :D Ive been in the US since 2011 and expected date to get green card is currently 2027.

What is your nationality ?
Do you have a masters?
Yes . Took 1.5 years for me . 7-8 months for pre processing . 8-9 months after PERM is filed for it to be approved . Additional 3 months for I-140 unless you can convince for premium processing
Indian and yes I have a maters
I would say at little bit less, maybe 18months... The Perm process has a lot of stages and it takes the most
Yes
Yeah but I am referring to the new guidelines, are you guys aware?
What new guidelines?
1 year into the process and 1 year more year to go..So ya 2 years sounds about right ...No guarantee that they will file in time
M1, most people at EY who are in the PERM stage were informed that there were some changesCheck with your attorney. I think it has something to do with the recruitment process. Sorry not completely sure
Wait EY3, I am not clear. Perm process on hold for 6 months, meaning it should start in September, right?
I second what EY1 said above. It took around 18 months in my (indian) case. They had sent me a 2 page PDF which had duration details about each step of the green card process. Ask your EY visa and immigration consultant for that document.
