I mean think of it this way… “the worst thing has already happened” and you got yourself a new job and excelled and upleveled! I think that shows that if the consulting gig doesn’t pan out, you’ll survive! Take it and try it out but know that the first 6months-1 year of most new jobs is pretty intimidating and it does get better!!
You can do it. Take it!
You need practical tips and not just rara cheers, so do this:
Talk with your manager and obtain his/her expectations for 30, 60 and 90 days of you
Schedule meetings with your peers and learn how they do their jobs
Prompt your favorite ai tool to create a 30, 60 and 90 day plan for your success based on all the input you’ve received
Then learn what you don’t know, improve on what you do and then go crush it!
Appreciate the actual real advice. Will execute on this.
The only way to overcome is to press through. Surround yourself with support and encouragement, it will help with the mental aspect.

Don't let fear rule your life. What if your ears fall off? What if you forget your pants the first day? Oh don't think those will happen. Not worth worrying over. Well, neither is anything that could happen. Deal with problems as and if they arise. Worrying has no productive value.
You prepared for this, you're qualified for this, this time you know what the job entails. You'll do great, don't self sabotage. Believe you can do it. You did when you applied.
What can you do? Banish those thoughts. If they try to creep in, replace them. Say out loud. I got this. I worked to get here. I deserve it.
It sounds like you set a goal, worked towards it, and achieved it. That's what winners do. Congratulations!
Same boat. Good luck, brah, hope you get everything you want and it’s all it’s cracked up to be
If IC is independent consultant, the stress level with probably be lower as the company may treat u more as an employee, than someone from Big 4 , who they are paying a high rate for. The added stress though is that usually an IC consultant be cut with 2 weeks notice due to budget cuts, project cancellation, etc.
I meant individual contributor lol
