White watch Wednesday. Loving this look!

Happy Sunday. For some reason, it’s 4:20 somewhere.

Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

What do we think of this custom Seiko?

This design makes me ridiculously happy. That’s all.

Wow good for you. Weren’t there only like 20 of this one?
Should be able to flip it no problem, but might not be able to make money on it like past Ming releases that sold out immediately.
I love Ming, but I have some trouble with that price. They’ve raised the shit out of their prices since the early ones sold out so fast.
Generally I'd say yes, and generally I wouldn't pay this much for a micro brand that outsources all of their production, but ming is a different ball game. As long as you measured out its dimensions on your wrist and he seen other representative designs in person you should be fine. Worst case scenario you could easily sell it without loss since the brand has low volume and a cult following

The uneven stitching on that strap is killing me...😖

The straps are actually Jean Rousseau, which are top notch.

I thought I was looking at a new movido at first glance...

I was considering trying to get one of these but decided against it because I’m not in love with the design and I’m not sure what role it would serve in my collection. That’s just me though.
I do think that Ming has tapped into something special. Resale is typically strong, so there’s limited risk. I liked the 27.01 but the movement seemed like it might be troublesome in the future. I think if Ming can create an epic design (like a FPJ Chrono Bleu), these “early” watches will remain quite desirable.
$11k is a pretty penny though, so just make sure you’re buying it because you love it:
- Not because it’s limited and there are only 15
- And not because you “hope” it might appreciate
Either love it and buy it (even if it becomes worth $4k), or pass on it and can be comfortable if the prices end up skyrocketing.

I would not buy a watch that I haven’t tried on (maybe a Nautilus or something...).
Visual Storyteller
I like Ming, I just don’t $11k like them.
I do believe they generally sell above MRSP 2nd though, no? Limited risk if so.
IMO yes but my opinion doesn’t matter it’s entirely your choice. As long as it fulfils the reason you’re buying it it’s a great choice for you
