From my experience at deloitte, they'll sell you on potential work you can do for a project but you may never actually do that work. And get stuck in unrelated tasks because they're higher on the client's priority list. This has happened to me multiple times on multiple projects (also as someone who works in data analytics), and I actually feel like the opportunity cost is that I lost years where I could've been learning more data related skills but instead spent that time making PowerPoints.

How has COVID impacted you? I'm in a very rural county and now WFH. 10 deaths so far that were all LTC to my knowledge. The only person I've seen wear a mask in the last month was me. We've had 100 cases or so confirmed which were all LTC or from a factory on the edge of our county. How are you city folk doing? Sing me the song of your people.

Back on the market and I’m coming to find two things: 1. Less desirable agencies are the ones who want people back on-site soon, with no wiggle room for remote work. 2. These same agencies want to pay salaries based on COL in the city where the agency is based even if you’re working/living from another market in the interim. Example: Midwest based agency paying Midwest salaries to folks living in places like NY, SF, LA. 🧐🧐🧐🧐

Hi! I have two offers and I’m not sure what to do. One is with a small firm that serves as outside counsel to medical practices (leasing, employment issues and acquisitions are primary work load) and the other is in-house for a pharmaceutical company (managing outside counsel, vendor contracts, privacy). The firm pays much better (1800 hours, flexible wfh) but I feel like the experience in house would go further in becoming a GC down the road. Please help!

Anyone just getting tired of their partner on a whole new level with WFH? I feel like we are getting into spats more, I'm getting more resentful of the lack of even workloads/effort, and to top it all off these tensions are literally invading my personal space! Not looking for advice really. Just wondering if anyone else is feeling partner fatigue more now than the Before Times.

I spoke to a Senior Manager earlier today and she told me they are looking to hire experienced and qualified candidates who have the below requirements: 1) Bachelor’s degree 2) CPA certification 3) 3-7 years of Accounting or Audit experience 100% remote. Then, post COVID traveling will vary. Please, if you meet the above requirements or know someone who does and is interested in joining Deloitte send me a private message.
