Get some rest and go have some fun. Eat some good food and maybe start going to the gym. Strong body equals strong mind. Hope this helps ☺️
Hope you can find time to focus on the things that make you happy and take time to enjoy them as well. Have a great accountability contact may help too.
The same exact thing happened to me! I'd give antidepressants a try -- I think in my case, I realized I don't actually have ADHD, just incredibly low self esteem/self worth telling myself that I'm performing worse than everyone else around me and attributing that to my inability to concentrate. In reality, everyone is just as distracted as I am. I got on antidepressants and I no longer feel like I have ADHD because I have so much more confidence in the way I work and what I'm getting done. This was just my case, but hope it helps!
It takes a while to kick in, but once it did it was one of those things where I woke up one day and realized, "hey, it's been a while since I've been super hard on myself!"
Somethings that’ll help …. Sauna, gym, long walks, eat clean
See that’s the crazy part, I gym like 2 hours a day and aim at getting 10k steps a day. I track macros too. I feel semi-functional in that regard but outside of that, it’s hard to focus on work and pursue hobbies. But I thought it was ADHD
Welcome my the club. Being depressed usually kills your work ethic. I would try to get some time to yourself to have some fun with stuff you like to do.
Huge pay wall to get here, kinda bummed about that hahha
Depression can make you unable to focus on work.
Keep in mind that going to work can be therapeutic & it can substantially improve one’s mood or depression. I suggest being around good people and getting some exercise to boost your levels!
You’ve got this!

I was in a similar boat recently, was only marked as mildly depressed but still enough to where some of my ambition and focus was killed and I didn’t feel like myself. I regularly go to the gym and tried to get outside but still just did not feel like myself. Talked to my doctor and recently started zoloft on a very small dose and found that nearly instantaneously I was able to focus, had more energy, better mood, and started to get stuff done. Everyone has their own path for this stuff but that’s what helped me! Hope it gets better for you

Of course, thanks as well. Hope it turns around for you soon im sure it will. It was relatively easy to get my meds, just a 20 min video call with my doctor (or any doctor in network if you want them fast) and then i used capsule to get them delivered the next day. Regardless of what you choose to do for it i would recommend just talking to your doctor about it, best of luck!
There is so much more research out there these days about ADHD - it’s not just about little boys who can’t sit still in class - it can be the daydreaming little girl, the binge eating teenager, the burned out parent & so much more. Untreated ADHD can show up as depression, and some people deal with both. My advice is to do your own research and self-reflection, and to shop around for a good therapist and/or coach that will help you develop some good coping strategies. Wish you the best!
Take meds and see what happens? I have ADHD and for me ADHD meds lessen my depressive episodes. But for the person above antidepressants lessened possible ADHD symptoms. 🤷 They can definitely be connected, allow yourself time to figure out what meds work for you
Did you do the computer test (flashes different color shapes for you to match for an excruciatingly long time while monitoring your physical movement) or were you diagnosed based on self-reported symptoms? I was diagnosed with anxiety instead of ADHD twice based on symptom evaluation, but the anxiety meds didn’t help me much. When I did the computer test, it showed moderate ADHD. As others noted though, depression and anxiety can cause similar symptoms too. Wishing you luck on your journey!
Now I’m just trying to find literally anywhere that has my new prescription in stock. It has been a month and I’m still empty handed.
There are medications that treat depression that are also used to treat adhd, although not intentionally. They’re both not too far off from one another and shouldn’t be anything to be ashamed of. I was diagnosed with adhd at 30 and made me have an epiphany. I’ve lived my life so disorganized and chaotic all my life and never saw a specialist. Everything made sense for once and I hope this helps bring you some level of clarity like I felt. It’s great that you took the first step.
They have similar symptoms when left unresolved. When I first went for my ADHD diagnosis, I was also diagnosed with severe depression instead. We started treatment and medication for it and after about a year I told my psychiatrist that I was still having similar, if not worst issues. And since we addressed the first possibility, I then was told to pursue an ADHD diagnosis via a neuropsychological exam.
